Doha, Arabic Al-Dawḥah, city, capital of Qatar, is located on the east coast of the Qatar Peninsula in the Persian Gulf. More than two-fifths of Qatar's population lives within the city's limits. The main economic activities are the oil and gas industry. Doha has long been a locally important port.

It occupies 132 km², and it's considered a world city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network.
